Outfit Ideas For CNY

By Earnest Collective
09 May 2019

We know, it’s probably a little late to talk about this year’s Chinese New Year outfit ideas when it’s just 5 days away. But hey, better late than never, right? Now let’s jump straight into these 5 outfit ideas we’ve rounded up to look chic and dapper!

To begin, let’s talk about pairing these Chelsea Boots. I’m sure, you don’t often see them on our sunny island due to the fact that we live in a ‘summer-all-year-round’ climate. There’s always a misconception when it comes to wearing boots in our hot and humid climate but honestly, it’s akin to wearing high cut sneakers and not as ‘muggy’ as you may think it is. In fact, it’s so much easier to slip in and out of these Chelsea’s because of the way it’s constructed. It features elastic panels on the side and a tab for easier pull-on. If you're worried about maintaining its suede material, you can check out our previous blog post about caring for suede!

Truthfully, it does not get any more simple than this! All you need is to throw on a basic tee or shirt, your favourite jeans, Chelsea's and you're good to go! If you've never gotten yourself a pair, now's the time!

Moving on, let's check out one of the most versatile wardrobe piece - the driving loafers. With smart/casual shorts or chinos, it definitely spruces up your outfit. For a more smart casual look, put on a collared shirt with chinos. If you're looking for a more casual/summer look, throw on a loose fit shirt with casual shorts. The possibilities are endless with the driving loafers.

The next style is none other than the ever-so-popular, sneakers. Probably the easiest piece to pair these days. Just like the driving loafers, you can pretty much wear it with everything whether it's casual or smart. Suit it up or dress it down, works either way!

Let's get to the next style - the Monk Straps. Contrary to popular belief, the monk straps are easy to pair and you definitely do not need a certain 'look' to pull it off. It can also be worn in both business or casual settings.

Last but definitely not least, we have the classic oxfords. From detailed brogues to minimalist whole-cut oxfords, here are a few suggestions on how you can wear them! If you're unsure of how to pair the colours of your shoe to your outfit, you can read our previous blog post here!
